The Trumeaux Series
A large series is currently being manufactured. These reinvented trumeaux create a dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation.
Reunies No. 1
78cm x 135cm. Unique piece.
Retaining the majestic wood and gilded plaster structure of an early 20th century, the work repurposes the original object to offer it a new function: an object of poetic narration.
In the center, where the mirror would normally be, stands a splendid totem of love, an incandescent core. Its figure, a tender and mysterious guardian, radiates, surrounded by stylized vegetation, birds, and symbols that seem to pulse with it. This vibrant and meticulous motif transcends mere decoration: it dazzles.
In the upper medallion, a black and white photograph replaces the original ornament: distant, almost spectral male silhouettes. This suspended image questions the contemporary world with an acknowledged ambivalence between tenderness and disappointment, coldness and hope, and becomes an emotional counterpoint to the painting's colorful language.
The whole forms a hybrid art object, where a fragment of history welcomes a new vision: a sensitive territory where the past frames the present gesture, and where love, however fragile, is the guiding thread.
